Small Business Owners Speak to Congress About Digital Advertising and Privacy

Small business owners from across the country traveled to Washington, D.C., to share an important message with Congress: digital policy should protect consumers without making it harder for small businesses to grow.

During the visit, entrepreneurs explained how digital advertising helps them reach new customers, compete with larger companies, and grow their businesses beyond their local communities.

They also discussed the importance of creating clear and consistent national privacy regulations. A patchwork of different state laws could make compliance more expensive and complicated for small businesses with limited resources.

New taxes or restrictions on digital advertising could also increase marketing costs and make it more difficult for Main Street businesses to connect with the customers who need their products and services.

Internet for Growth brings together small business owners, entrepreneurs, and creators who rely on digital tools to reach customers, compete in today’s economy, and build sustainable businesses.
